Features
- Allows the customer to subscribe to one or more designers (a.k.a Manufacturers).
Before Installing / Upgrading
Although our modules are exhausted tested, we do not guarantee that everything goes smoothly, so please, BACKUP YOUR DATABASE AND FILES before proceed.
Installation Instructions
- Download the license manager from http://customscriptz.com/downloads/license-manager.zip
- Extract the license manager to a temp dir on your computer.
- Open the dir "uploads" from the license manager, rename the "admin" folder to match yours and upload both the folders to the root of your store.
- Now open the "uploads" dir of your module.
- Rename the "admin" dir to match yours.
- Rename the dir "uploads/includes/languages/(language-name-here)/YOUR-TEMPLATE" to match your template.
- Rename the dir "uploads/includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE" to match your template.
- Now, upload all the contents of the dir "uploads" to the root of your store. Don't upload the "uploads" dir, but what's inside of it. There are no overwrites.
- Wait for the upload of all files to complete.
- If your Zen Cart version is equals to 1.3.x -> go to Admin -> Tools -> Subscribed to Designers
- If your Zen Cart version is equals or above 1.5.x -> go to Admin -> Custom Scriptz -> Subscribed to Designers
- You will then be redirected to the License Manager to enter your license.
- After you enter the license, the module will redirect you to it's main page and show you that the installation was succeed.
- Open your store FTP and open the file with a editor "includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info.php" (this file might be different if you are using a different file type)
- Open your store FTP and open the file with a editor "includes/templates/YOUR-TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_SUBSCRIBE_DESIGNER_ADD_TO_product_info_display.php"
- Copy the contents of the file tpl_SUBSCRIBE_DESIGNER_ADD_TO_product_info_display.php and paste to tpl_product_info.php where you want the button to subscribe to the designer to appear. A good place is near the add to cart button.
- Save tpl_product_info.php and upload back.
- Now go to a products page and see if the subscribe to designer button is there.
- If your Zen Cart version is equals to 1.3.x -> go to Admin -> Tools -> Subscribed to Designers
- If your Zen Cart version is equals or above 1.5.x -> go to Admin -> Custom Scriptz -> Subscribed to Designers
- Copy the "Cron Job URL:" and setup a cron job on your hosting panel to access the URL http://www.example.com/your-store/cron_subscribe_designer.php?key=XXXX once daily at 00:10 (12:10 am) to send out emails.
Tutorial
- Subscribe to some designers.
- Run the cron in debug mode by visiting the following URL: http://www.example.com/your-store/cron_subscribe_designer.php?start_date=2013-08-01&end_date=2013-08-31&debug=true
- The "start_date=" can be set to any date in the format of Year-month-day. The same applies for "end_date=" parameter on the URL.
Upgrading Instructions
- Same as installation instructions. Just be sure to backup any changes you've done to any file related to the module.
FAQ
* I have added a new product, but I didn't got a notification. Why?
- The notification is sent once daily and the notification is for the products that has been added on the last day.
